AmCheck San Diego Managing Partner Scott Maichel was honored recently as a Partner of the Year by the San Diego Association of Health Underwriters (SDAHU). Maichel has been on SDAHU’s Board of Directors for the past four years, is a past President of the association, and currently sits on the Board of Directors.
“SDAHU is a great resource for local brokers. As an advocate of the broker community, I can’t think of a better way to support local agents than being an active participant in this terrific organization,” said Michael upon receiving the award. “I am very honored to win the award and grateful for the opportunity to support local brokers and their clients through the products and services AmCheck provides.”
SDAHU’s Partner of the Year Award is given to a, “partner that brings in the most new members in their fiscal year,” states Gail James Clarke, SDAHU Executive Director. “Scott received the award because he, over the past few years, has been instrumental in bringing on a number of new members to the organization.”
One of SDAHU’s goals is to influence legislation and promote fair and ethical business practices through the Association of Health and Disability Insurance Professionals.
With that in mind, shortly after receiving the award, Maichel was on a plane to Washington, D.C. with SDAHU delegates. Their mission was to lobby legislators on behalf of local brokers and employers for improvements to the Affordable Car Act.
“Being a delegate for SDAHU and meeting with our local Congressman and Senators is an important part of how AmCheck supports our local broker community,” Maichel stated.
